Nicknamed A-Train, he is recognized as one of the greatest fullbacks in professional football history. Alstott played college football at Purdue University, earning third-team All-American honors in 1995 and being drafted by the Buccaneers in the second round of the 1996 NFL draft. He became the first player in Purdue University history to be named team MVP in three consecutive seasons.
