Mick Tingelhoff Biography

Henry Michael Tingelhoff played as a center for the Minnesota Vikings in the NFL from 1962 to 1978. He was honored with induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2015. Tingelhoff played college football at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln on a scholarship, where he played both center and linebacker. He earned three letters during his collegiate career and became a starter during his senior season in 1961. That 1961 team saw its highest offensive output in over five seasons, and Tingelhoff served as a co-captain, earning All-Conference and All-State honors. Tingelhoff played in the Senior Bowl held in Mobile, Alabama, and later participated in the All-American Bowl following the conclusion of the regular season. He was named All-Pro by the Associated Press from 1964 to 1966 and 1968 to 1969, and by United Press International from 1964 to 1969, and was selected All-NFC by the AP in 1970.
