Michael Penix Jr. Biography

Michael Penix Jr. was born on May 8, 2000, and is an American professional football quarterback who has played in the National Football League. He won the Maxwell Award in 2024 after leading the NCAA in passing yards during his college season. Penix was selected by the Atlanta Falcons with the eighth overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft. He played high school football at Tampa Bay Technical High School, where he passed for 4,243 yards and 61 touchdowns with only six interceptions. He returned to Indiana University as the starting quarterback for the 2020 season, which was shortened due to the pandemic. He transferred to the University of Washington in December 2021 to continue his college football career. In 2022, he led the Huskies to an 11–2 record and was the FBS leader in passing yards per game with 357.
