Michael Jordan Biography

Michael Jeffrey Jordan, born February 17, 1963, is an American businessman, former professional basketball player, and former baseball player. Jordan played 15 seasons in the National Basketball Association between 1984 and 2003, winning six NBA championships with the Chicago Bulls. He played college basketball with the North Carolina Tar Heels. Michael Jordan's ability to execute dunks from the free-throw line contributed to the nicknames Air Jordan and His Airness. Michael Jordan secured three consecutive NBA championships with the Bulls in 1991, 1992, and 1993. Jordan retired prior to the 1993–94 NBA season to pursue professional baseball with the Chicago White Sox minor league system. In 1999, Michael Jordan was recognized by ESPN as the top North American athlete of the 20th century and ranked second on the Associated Press list of century's greatest athletes.
