Micah Aaron Parsons, born on May 26, 1999, is an American professional football outside linebacker who has played for the Green Bay Packers in the National Football League. Parsons earned consensus All-American honors and was named the 2019 Big Ten Linebacker of the Year during his college football career with the Penn State Nittany Lions. Selected in the first round of the 2021 NFL draft by the Dallas Cowboys, Parsons was named Defensive Rookie of the Year and earned multiple Pro Bowl and All-Pro selections during his tenure with the team. As a senior in high school, Parsons recorded 1,239 rushing yards, 27 rushing touchdowns, 99 receiving yards, and 2 receiving touchdowns. Penn State University extended a football scholarship to Parsons after only four games of his freshman season. After committing to Penn State, Parsons was assigned to start at middle linebacker, a position shift from the defensive end role he held in high school. Parsons was named defensive MVP of the 2019 Cotton Bowl Classic after recording 14 tackles, two sacks, and two forced fumbles.
