Max Homa Biography

John Maxwell Homa, born on November 19, 1990, is an American professional golfer. In 2013, he won both the individual Pac-12 Men's Golf Championship and the NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championship during his amateur career at the University of California, Berkeley. As a junior in 2011-12, Homa earned third-team PING Division I All-American and second-team All-Pac-12 honors. In 2008, he was selected to represent Southern California on the Junior America's Cup team. At the end of his amateur career, he was ranked 4th in California, 33rd in the U.S., and 78th in the world according to amateurgolf.com. In 2011, Homa won the amateurgolf.com Silicon Valley Amateur with a score of 63-70 for a total of 133. During the 2015 PGA Tour season, Homa competed in 27 events.
