Matt Olson Biography

Matthew Kent Olson, born on March 29, 1994, is an American professional baseball first baseman who has played in Major League Baseball. He has previously played in MLB for the Oakland Athletics. Matt Olson began his professional career with the Athletics after being selected in the first round of the 2012 MLB draft and played his first major league game with the team in 2016. He has won multiple Gold Glove Awards, a Silver Slugger Award, and was an MLB All-Star in 2021, 2023, 2025, and 2026. Scott Olson served as his sons' youth baseball coach until high school. Olson finished his high school career with a .431 batting average, 44 doubles, 45 home runs, 168 RBIs, and a fielding percentage over 0.980. He played the 2014 season with the Stockton Ports.
