Matthew Ryan Kemp, born on September 23, 1984, is an American former professional baseball outfielder. Kemp began with the Dodgers organization in 2003 and later played in MLB for Los Angeles, San Diego, Atlanta, Cincinnati, and Colorado. He was named to three All-Star teams and won two Gold Glove Awards in 2009 and 2011, as well as two Silver Slugger Awards in the same years. The Dodgers selected Kemp in the sixth round of the 2003 MLB draft to begin his professional career. In 2011, Kemp led the National League in runs scored with 115, total bases with 353, and home runs with 39, while posting an OPS+ of 171 and a WAR of 7.8. Kemp was an All-City selection in high school and averaged 20 points per game during his basketball career. In January 2002, Kemp, along with Williams and three other teammates, was accused of raping a 19-year-old woman at a high school all-star basketball tournament held at the Columbus, Ohio Hyatt hotel.
