Mark Stone Biography

Mark Stone, born May 13, 1992, is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who has played as a right winger and has captained the Vegas Golden Knights in the NHL. He was chosen by the Ottawa Senators in the sixth round, 178th overall, during the 2010 NHL entry draft. Stone tied Johnny Gaudreau for the most points among NHL rookies in the 2014–15 season, recording 64 points and earning a Calder Memorial Trophy nomination. He is widely regarded as one of the NHL’s top two-way forwards, having previously been a finalist for the Frank J. Selke Trophy. Stone led the Golden Knights to their first Stanley Cup title during the 2022–23 season, scoring a hat-trick in the series-clinching Game Five of the 2023 Stanley Cup Final. After playing for the Winnipeg Thrashers in the Manitoba Midget 'AAA' Hockey League and winning top scorer honors in the 2008 Telus Cup, he began his major junior career with the Brandon Wheat Kings in 2008–09. He attended his first NHL training camp in September 2010 before returning to junior for the following season.
