Manuel Arístides Ramírez Onelcida, born on May 30, 1972, is a Dominican-American former professional baseball outfielder. He has played in Major League Baseball for parts of 19 seasons. Ramirez appeared in 12 All-Star Games, including a streak of eleven consecutive appearances starting in 1998. In 1994, he became a major league regular and finished second in voting for the Rookie of the Year Award. In 1999, he set the Indians' single-season RBI record with 165 RBIs. After the 2000 season, he signed with the Boston Red Sox. Manny Ramirez was part of a three-team trade in 2008 that sent him from the Red Sox to the Los Angeles Dodgers, with the Pittsburgh Pirates involved.
