Madison Bumgarner Biography

Madison Kyle Bumgarner, nicknamed MadBum, is an American former professional baseball pitcher born on August 1, 1989. Bumgarner played in Major League Baseball for San Francisco during 2009–19 and for Arizona during 2020–23. Bumgarner won three World Series championships in 2010, 2012, and 2014, and earned two Silver Slugger Awards in 2014 and 2015. Madison Bumgarner played baseball in high school at South Caldwell High School in Hudson, North Carolina, contributing to his team's victory in the 2007 North Carolina 4A State Championship. Bumgarner was selected with the tenth overall pick in the 2007 MLB draft by the Giants. In 2019, he led the National League in games started, recording a 9–9 record. In 2008, Baseball America ranked Bumgarner as the third-best prospect in the Giants organization.
