Luc Robitaille Biography

Luc Robitaille born on February 17, 1966, is a Canadian-American former professional ice hockey player and current executive serving as president of the Los Angeles Kings in the National Hockey League. Robitaille played for the Pittsburgh Penguins and New York Rangers during his 19-season NHL career, winning the Stanley Cup in 2001–02 with the Detroit Red Wings. Robitaille concluded his career in 2005–06 holding the NHL record for most goals by a left winger and multiple Los Angeles Kings franchise and playoff records. In 2017, Robitaille was named one of the 100 Greatest NHL Players in history. He was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in the ninth round, 171st overall, of the 1984 NHL entry draft. Robitaille recorded 155 goals and 269 assists for 424 points in 197 games during his three seasons with the Olympiques from 1983 to 1986, earning CHL Player of the Year honors with 191 points in the 1985–86 season. His first NHL season was in 1986–87, where he helped the Kings qualify for the 1987 Stanley Cup playoffs despite a 31–41–8 record.
