Lavonte David, born on January 23, 1990, played his entire 14-season professional football career as a linebacker for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFL. He played college football at Nebraska, earning All-American honors twice before being selected by the Buccaneers in the second round of the 2012 NFL draft. David was named to three All-Pro teams, earned one Pro Bowl selection, and won Super Bowl LV in a 31–9 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs during the 2020 season. He initially signed with Middle Tennessee State University but later chose to attend Fort Scott Community College in Fort Scott, Kansas. During his time at Fort Scott, he recorded 12 tackles, including a sack on the final defensive play, before the team lost on a punt return for a touchdown. In his first season at Fort Scott, David led the Jayhawk Conference with 93 tackles. He entered the 2012 NFL draft and attended the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, Indiana.
