LaDainian Tomlinson Biography

LaDainian Tomlinson, born on June 23, 1979, played 11 seasons in the National Football League as a professional running back. After a standout college career with the TCU Horned Frogs, he was selected fifth overall in the 2001 NFL draft by the San Diego Chargers. In 2006, he was named NFL Most Valuable Player after setting a single-season record for touchdowns. A native of Rosebud, Texas, he demonstrated athletic talent during his time at University High School. As a junior, he rushed for 406 yards in one game, a Division I record at the time. The Chargers chose him with the fifth overall pick, passing on the opportunity to select quarterback Michael Vick. He earned five Pro Bowl selections, including in 2002, 2004, 2006, and 2007, and was named first-team All-Pro in 2004, 2006, and 2007.
