Kyler Murray Biography

Kyler Cole Murray, born on August 7, 1997, is an American professional football quarterback who has played for the Minnesota Vikings in the National Football League. After playing college football with the Oklahoma Sooners, Murray won the Heisman Trophy in 2018. Murray was selected first overall in the 2019 NFL draft by the Arizona Cardinals. He was also chosen ninth overall by the Oakland Athletics in the 2018 MLB draft, becoming the first athlete drafted in the first round of both the NFL and MLB. In his first NFL season, Murray earned the Offensive Rookie of the Year award after establishing multiple Cardinals franchise records for rookie quarterbacks. Murray also played baseball and was regarded as one of the top prospects ahead of the 2015 MLB draft. As a true freshman in 2015, he competed for the starting quarterback role against Kyle Allen at Oklahoma.
