Ken Morrow Biography

Ken Morrow born on October 17 1956 played as a professional ice hockey defenseman and was part of the 1980 U.S. Olympic team that achieved the Miracle on Ice. Morrow has served as the New York Islanders' director of pro scouting. Ken Morrow played 550 regular season games in the National Hockey League from 1980 to 1989. Ken Morrow played as a standout defenseman at Bowling Green State University in Ohio and competed for Team USA during the 1978 Ice Hockey World Championship. Selected 68th overall by the New York Islanders in the 1976 NHL entry draft, Morrow joined the Islanders immediately following the Olympics. Although not known as a prolific scorer, Morrow scored several important goals during the Islanders' playoff runs. Ken Morrow scored the goal that ended the Islanders' first-round playoff series against the New York Rangers in Game 5 during the 1984 playoffs.
