Justin Turner, born November 23, 1984, is an American professional baseball infielder and designated hitter who has competed in the Mexican League. Turner has appeared in Major League Baseball for clubs based in Baltimore, New York, Los Angeles, Boston, Toronto, Seattle, and Chicago. Turner played college baseball for the Cal State Fullerton Titans, developing his skills before entering professional baseball. Justin Turner was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the seventh round of the 2006 MLB draft and began his major league career in 2009 with the Baltimore Orioles. With the Los Angeles Dodgers, Turner was named an All-Star in 2017 and 2021 and earned the National League Championship Series Most Valuable Player Award in 2017. Turner attended Mayfair High School in Lakewood, California, where he earned three-time All-Suburban first-team honors as a shortstop and second baseman. He was originally selected in the 29th round of the 2005 Major League Baseball draft by the New York Yankees, though he did not sign with the team.
