Juan Dixon Biography

Juan Dixon, born October 9, 1978, is an American former professional basketball player and former head coach for Coppin State University in Baltimore. Juan Dixon was named Most Outstanding Player after leading Maryland to victory in the 2002 NCAA championship game. Dixon's half brother Jermaine Dixon played shooting guard for the University of Pittsburgh Panthers basketball team. Dixon arrived at the University of Maryland, College Park after head coach Gary Williams discovered him at an AAU tournament in Georgia. Both Dixon and the Terps entered the 2000–01 season with high expectations. Juan Dixon was selected for the ACC 50th Anniversary men's basketball team in 2002, one of 8 Terrapins honored on the 50-man roster. After his senior season, Dixon was featured on the cover of a video game, NCAA Final Four 2003.
