Josh Cribbs Biography

Josh Cribbs was born on June 9, 1983, and played as a wide receiver and return specialist in the National Football League. He played college football for Kent State and joined the Cleveland Browns as an undrafted free agent following the 2005 NFL draft. Cribbs is tied for second in NFL history with eight kickoff returns for touchdowns and holds the record for two 100-yard kickoff returns for touchdowns in one game. As a senior in 2000, he was named a first-team All-Met selection by the Washington Post while playing quarterback at Dunbar High School in Washington, D.C. During his time at Dunbar, the Crimson Tide won three consecutive DCIAA football titles. In his senior season, he completed 130 of 277 passes for 2,022 yards, nine touchdowns, and five interceptions. Cribbs is the only player in NCAA history to lead his team in both rushing and passing for four seasons, and his 2003 single-season total of 3,125 combined yards was later surpassed in 2008 by Julian Edelman.
