Jordan Spieth Biography

Jordan Spieth, born July 27, 1993, is an American professional golfer who has competed on the PGA Tour and held the world number one ranking in the Official World Golf Ranking. In 2012, Spieth reached the top of the World Amateur Golf Ranking after winning the U.S. Junior Amateur title for the second time. He captured his first major championship at the 2015 Masters Tournament, finishing 18-under to match the scoring record set by Tiger Woods in 1997. Spieth's grandfather, Donald Spieth, served as a music teacher and conductor at institutions in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Jesuit College Preparatory School of Dallas in 2011 after attending St. Monica Catholic School. Spieth won the U.S. Junior Amateur in 2009 and again in 2011, becoming only the second player to achieve this feat after Tiger Woods. He received a special exemption to play in the 2010 HP Byron Nelson Championship on the PGA Tour.
