Jonah Nathan Heim, born on June 27, 1995, is an American professional baseball catcher who has played in Major League Baseball. He has previously played in MLB for the Texas Rangers and Atlanta Braves. Heim made his MLB debut in 2020 after being traded twice in the minor leagues, first to the Tampa Bay Rays and then to Oakland. The following year, the Athletics traded Heim to Texas, where he became the Rangers' starting catcher and was selected to the 2023 MLB All-Star Game. The Baltimore Orioles drafted Heim in the fourth round, 129th overall, of the 2013 MLB draft. Heim's offensive performance remained limited during the 2014 season, though his hitting coach expressed confidence in his long-term growth. He began the 2015 season with the Delmarva Shorebirds of the Single–A South Atlantic League, sharing catching duties with Alex Murphy.
