John Wall Jr. was born on September 6, 1990, and has played 11 seasons in the NBA, most notably with the Washington Wizards. Selected first overall in the 2010 NBA draft, Wall joined the Wizards after one year of college basketball with the Kentucky Wildcats. Wall, a point guard, was named to the NBA All-Star team from 2014 to 2018 and earned All-NBA recognition in 2017. Despite a strong tryout, Wall was cut from his high school's varsity team due to attitude-related concerns. In 2007, during his second year of high school, Wall scored 28 points at the Reebok All-American Camp against a team featuring future lottery pick Brandon Jennings. In 2008, Wall played in the Elite 24 Hoops Classic, where he scored 10 points and shared co-MVP honors with Dominic Cheek, Maalik Wayns, and Lance Stephenson. As a fifth-year senior in 2009, Wall averaged 19.7 points, nine assists, and over eight rebounds while playing for Word of God Christian Academy, earning top national ranking among high school players.
