John Vanbiesbrouck, born on September 4, 1963, is an American professional ice hockey executive and former player known by the nicknames the Beezer and JVB. He was inducted into the United States Hockey Hall of Fame in 2007 for his contributions as a goaltender. Vanbiesbrouck played a key role in leading his team to a league championship and shared the league's MVP honors despite financial challenges. He began playing full-time with the New York Rangers during the 1984–85 season. In Florida, he was selected as an All-Star three times and guided the Panthers to their first Stanley Cup Final appearance in 1996. Vanbiesbrouck recorded 374 wins, 346 losses, 119 ties, and 40 shutouts during his career, making him the winningest American-born goaltender at the time. In 2013, he was named general manager of the Muskegon Lumberjacks in the USHL, a Tier I junior league.
