Joey Porter Biography

Joseph Eugene Porter Sr. was born on March 22, 1977, and is an American professional football coach and former player. He played as a linebacker in the National Football League. Porter was selected to four Pro Bowls and won Super Bowl XL with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He attended Foothill High School in Bakersfield, California, for his high school football career. Porter has remained in his hometown and has run a youth football camp at Foothill throughout his professional life. He played college football for the Colorado State Rams at Colorado State University. The Pittsburgh Steelers drafted Porter in the third round with the 73rd overall pick in the 1999 NFL Draft.
