Joe Thomas Biography

Joseph Hayden Thomas, born on December 4, 1984, played 11 seasons as an offensive tackle in the NFL with the Cleveland Browns. He earned unanimous All-American honors during his college football career at Wisconsin and was recognized as the top college interior lineman. The Cleveland Browns selected Thomas with the third overall pick in the 2007 NFL draft. Joe Thomas played 10,363 straight snaps, the longest streak since snap counts began in 1999, and was selected to the Pro Bowl for each of his first 10 seasons before missing time in 2017. Thomas was ranked as the No. 18 offensive tackle prospect in the class of 2003 and was regarded as a four-star recruit by Rivals.com. He played for the Wisconsin Badgers football team from 2003 to 2006 before entering the NFL draft. Thomas was projected to be selected within the top 15 in the 2006 NFL draft and considered entering as the second offensive lineman behind D'Brickashaw Ferguson from Virginia.
