Joe DeLamielleure Biography

Joseph Michael DeLamielleure, born on March 16, 1951, was an American former professional football player who played as a guard in the National Football League. He earned All-American honors while playing college football for the Michigan State Spartans. DeLamielleure was selected 26th overall in the first round of the 1973 NFL draft by the Buffalo Bills. In 1974, the Bills posted a 9–5 record and made the playoffs, with DeLamielleure named second-team All-Pro. During his time with Buffalo, he earned six Pro Bowls and six All-Pro selections. In 1980, he was traded to the Cleveland Browns, where he helped block for quarterback Brian Sipe, the NFL’s Most Valuable Player that season. DeLamielleure returned to the Bills for his final NFL season in 1985, ending a 13-year professional career.
