Jerry Jones Biography

Jerral Wayne Jones Sr. was born on October 13, 1942, and is an American billionaire businessman who serves as owner, president, and general manager of the Dallas Cowboys in the NFL. He acquired ownership of the Dallas Cowboys from Bum Bright in 1989. Jones played college football at the University of Arkansas and co-captained the 1964 national championship team. After completing his studies at the University of Arkansas, he held the position of executive vice president. He was a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity during his time at the University of Arkansas. Jones played as an offensive lineman under College Football Hall of Fame coach Frank Broyles and was a teammate of Jimmy Johnson, who later became his first head coach. Following his graduation in 1965, he borrowed a million dollars from Jimmy Hoffa's Teamsters union to establish a chain of Shakey's Pizza Parlor restaurants in Missouri.
