Jerome Abram Bettis Sr., born February 16, 1972, played 13 seasons in the NFL, primarily with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Nicknamed "the Bus," he is recognized as one of the greatest power runners in NFL history. He played college football at Notre Dame and was selected 10th overall in the 1993 NFL draft by the Los Angeles Rams. Bettis earned six Pro Bowl and two first-team All-Pro honors, including a Super Bowl XL victory with the Steelers. He recorded 337 rushing attempts for 1,912 yards, averaging 5.7 yards per carry, and had 32 receptions for 429 yards. After retiring, he returned to Notre Dame and graduated with a business degree on May 15, 2022. A new offensive system under coach Rich Brooks limited him to 637 rushing yards in 1994, a drop from his 1993 and 1994 totals.
