Jerick McKinnon Biography

Jerick Deshun McKinnon, born May 3, 1992, is an American former professional football running back known as "Jet." Jerick McKinnon played his collegiate football with the Georgia Southern Eagles before being chosen by the Minnesota Vikings in the third round of the 2014 NFL draft. McKinnon was an Atlanta Journal-Constitution first-team all-state pick at quarterback during his high school career. As a junior, he helped lead his team to a region championship while playing as a wide receiver, earning MVP honors in the National Underclassmen Ultimate 100. McKinnon attended Georgia Southern University from 2010 to 2013, where he played four seasons. Originally recruited as a quarterback, he handled special team duties and played quarterback and slotback in 2010. He finished his college career third all-time at Georgia Southern with 3,899 rushing yards and 42 touchdowns, totaling 4,138 all-purpose yards.
