Jeff Beukeboom Biography

Jeffrey Scott Beukeboom, born on March 28, 1965, is a Canadian professional ice hockey coach and former player in the National Hockey League. He played as a defenceman for the Edmonton Oilers and New York Rangers from 1986 to 1999, winning four Stanley Cup Championships in 1987, 1988, 1990, and 1994. Beukeboom's defensive positioning enabled Leetch to initiate attacks and restricted opposing players from entering the goal area. In 1996, Beukeboom received the New York Rangers' Crumb Bum Award, recognizing his contributions to community outreach and youth programs. During his tenure with the Rangers, he participated in a notable This is Sportscenter commercial after being provoked by a media comment, and he sustained multiple concussions, including one from a hit by Matt Johnson in November 1998.
