Jean Ratelle, born October 3, 1940, is a Canadian former ice hockey player who has played for the New York Rangers and Boston Bruins. Ratelle competed in three Stanley Cup Finals, appearing in 1972, 1977, and 1978. In 2017, he was recognized as one of the 100 Greatest NHL Players in history. He joined an elite group of players who scored as many points in a single season as he did during his shortened campaign. After joining the Bruins for the remainder of the 1975–76 season, Ratelle recorded over 100 points, achieving this mark for the second time in his career. At the close of the 1980–81 season, he retired as the league's sixth all-time leading scorer. In 2009, the authors of 100 Ranger Greats ranked him seventh among the 901 New York Rangers who played during the team's first 82 seasons.
