Jason Williams Biography

Jason Chandler Williams, born November 18, 1975, played as a point guard in the NBA for twelve seasons from 1998 to 2011. In 2006, he won an NBA championship as the starting point guard for the Miami Heat. Known for his unorthodox and creative style of play, he earned the nickname White Chocolate. A native of West Virginia, he played college basketball for Marshall University and later transferred to the University of Florida. The Miami Heat recognized his impact by naming him one of their top 25 players of all time in 2007. He was honored as West Virginia Player of the Year by USA Today in 1994. When coach Billy Donovan left Marshall for the University of Florida in 1996, Williams followed him to continue his college career.
