Jared McCain Biography

Jared Dane McCain, born on February 20, 2004, plays professional basketball for the Oklahoma City Thunder in the NBA. Jared McCain was rated as a consensus five-star recruit and placed within the top tier of the 2023 high school basketball class. McCain played college basketball for the Duke Blue Devils before being selected 16th overall by the Philadelphia 76ers in the 2024 NBA draft. He repeated as the 2022–23 Gatorade Player of the Year in California, averaging 17.7 points, 7.1 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 1.5 steals per game. Jared McCain began his collegiate career at Duke University during the summer of 2023. On January 27, 2024, he scored 21 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in a 72–71 victory against Clemson. On February 17, McCain scored 35 points in a 76–67 victory over Florida State, matching the Duke freshman record previously set by Zion Williamson.
