Jameis Winston Biography

Jameis Winston, born January 6, 1994, is an American professional football quarterback who has played in the National Football League. Winston played college football for the Florida State Seminoles, winning the Heisman Trophy as a freshman and leading his team to victory in the 2014 BCS National Championship Game. Winston set multiple franchise rookie records during his time with the Buccaneers and earned Pro Bowl honors, while also leading the league in passing yards during the 2019 season. He committed to Florida State University on February 3, 2012, choosing the Seminoles over other collegiate programs. The Texas Rangers selected Winston in the 15th round of the 2012 Major League Baseball draft after he graduated from high school. Winston redshirted during the 2012 college football season, playing behind senior quarterback EJ Manuel. For his achievements in 2013, Winston received numerous accolades, including national recognition for his standout performance.
