Jalen Carter Biography

Jalen Da'Quan Carter, born on April 4, 2001, is an American professional football defensive tackle who has played for the Philadelphia Eagles in the National Football League. He played college football for the Georgia Bulldogs, earning unanimous All-American honors in 2022 and winning two College Football Playoff national championships before being selected ninth overall in the 2023 NFL draft. Carter earned second-team All-Pro recognition in 2024 and contributed significantly to the Eagles’ victory in Super Bowl LIX. He began his football journey with the Apopka Raptors, a youth team based in his hometown of Apopka, Florida. During his youth football career, Carter played multiple positions including running back, cornerback, wide receiver, and outside linebacker. He also served as quarterback during an AAU 14-under national championship game, throwing a 70-yard touchdown pass against the Pensacola Browns. In high school, Carter competed in basketball and heavyweight lifting, recording 12 sacks, 64 tackles, and one touchdown as a senior.
