Jake Delhomme Biography

Jake Delhomme, born January 10, 1975, is an American former professional football player who played as a quarterback in the National Football League. After playing college football at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, he was signed by the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent following the 1997 NFL draft. He led the Carolina Panthers to Super Bowl XXXVIII during his first season with the team. Delhomme played both quarterback and defensive back in high school, earning all-state honors on defense. He finished his college career as the school's all-time passing leader in yards and touchdowns. In the 2003 season, he led the Panthers on eight game-winning drives in the fourth quarter or overtime, a record for any quarterback in a single season. The 2004 season marked his career highs in pass attempts, completions, total yardage, and touchdowns.
