Jadeveon Clowney Biography

Jadeveon Davarus Clowney, born February 14, 1993, is an American professional football defensive end for the Houston Texans in the National Football League. He earned the Ted Hendricks Award and SEC Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2012 while playing college football for the South Carolina Gamecocks. Clowney was chosen first overall in the 2014 NFL draft by the Houston Texans, beginning his professional career with the team. During his final three seasons with the Texans, he earned three consecutive Pro Bowl selections and one second-team All-Pro honor. Despite playing nearly the entire season with a bone spur in his foot, Clowney recorded 17 sacks. The team achieved a 10–4 record for the season and secured a state semifinal berth, where they lost to Northwestern. Clowney was recognized as South Carolina's 2010 Mr. Football prior to his college career.
