Greg Luzinski Biography

Gregory Michael Luzinski, born November 22, 1950, was nicknamed the Bull and played as an American professional baseball player. Luzinski played in Major League Baseball from 1970 to 1984, most notably as a left fielder for the Philadelphia Phillies, where he was a four-time All-Star and part of the 1980 World Series winning team. He led the National League in RBIs during 1975 and received the Roberto Clemente Award in 1978 for community involvement. Drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies with the 11th overall pick in the 1968 MLB draft, he began his professional career with the team. Luzinski maintained a consistent batting average throughout his major league career. In 1978, he was the top vote-getter for the National League All-Star team. He recorded a hit in thirteen straight league championship series games, spanning from Game 1 of the 1976 NLCS to Game 2 of the 1980 NLCS.
