Giannis Antetokounmpo Biography

Giannis Antetokounmpo, born December 6, 1994, is a Greek-Nigerian professional basketball player who has played for the Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA. His unique combination of size, speed, and strength has earned him the nickname "Greek Freak" across the league. He began playing for his club’s senior team in 2011 and was selected 15th overall in the 2013 NBA draft by the Milwaukee Bucks. In the 2016–17 season, he led the Bucks in all five major statistical categories and became the first NBA player to rank in the top 20 in five key stats. Antetokounmpo has been selected as an NBA All-Star ten times, including serving as captain in 2019, 2020, 2023, and 2024 after leading the Eastern Conference in voting. He has been named to the All-NBA Team nine times, including seven first-team honors, highlighting his sustained elite performance. In the same year, he was honored as one of the league’s greatest players by being named to the NBA 75th Anniversary Team.
