Georges St-Pierre Biography

Georges St-Pierre, born May 19, 1981, is a Canadian former professional mixed martial artist known by his initials GSP. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest fighters in mixed martial arts history. St-Pierre was a two-division champion in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, winning titles in the welterweight and middleweight divisions. He captured the UFC welterweight title in November 2006 and defended it until April 2008, winning the interim title once and the full title twice. In 2008, 2009, and 2010, he was honored as the Canadian Athlete of the Year by Rogers Sportsnet. St-Pierre retired as the reigning welterweight champion in December 2013, having held the record for most wins in title bouts and a second-longest combined title streak of 2,204 days. Outside his competitive fighting career, he has appeared in several films, including Captain America: The Winter Soldier in 2014, Kickboxer: Vengeance in 2016, Cartels in 2017, and King of Killers in 2023.
