George Kittle, born October 9, 1993, is an American professional football tight end who has played for the San Francisco 49ers in the NFL. He played college football at the University of Iowa and was selected by the 49ers in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL draft. Kittle has been named a first-team All-Pro in 2019 and 2023 and has earned seven Pro Bowl selections. He committed to the University of Iowa to play college football and remained there throughout his collegiate career. Kittle played for the Iowa Hawkeyes from 2012 to 2016 under head coach Kirk Ferentz. During the 2014 season, the tight end position at Iowa remained competitive for Kittle. His role on the team increased during the 2015 season as he gained more playing time and responsibility.
