Evan Carter Biography

Evan Jason Carter, born on August 29, 2002, is an American professional baseball outfielder who has played for the Texas Rangers in Major League Baseball. Carter made his debut in the major leagues during the 2023 season. Selected in the second round with the 50th overall pick in the 2020 MLB draft, he signed with the Texas Rangers for a $1.25 million bonus. In 2021, he played for the Down East Wood Ducks in the Low-A East, posting a .236 batting average with a .438 on-base percentage, .387 slugging percentage, and 12 stolen bases over 32 games. That same year, he missed the remainder of the season after suffering a stress fracture in his lower back. During the 2022 season, he split time between the Hickory Crawdads and Frisco RoughRiders, hitting a combined .295 with a .397 on-base percentage, .489 slugging percentage, and 28 stolen bases. He was honored as the Texas Rangers 2022 Tom Grieve Player of the Year.
