Eric Lindros was born on February 28, 1973, and is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player. He played junior hockey in the Ontario Hockey League for the Oshawa Generals before being selected first overall in the 1991 NHL entry draft by the Quebec Nordiques. During his time in the OHL, Lindros led the Generals to a Memorial Cup championship in 1990. Lindros began his National Hockey League career with the Philadelphia Flyers during the 1992–93 season. After the 1994–95 NHL season, Lindros won the Hart Memorial Trophy and the Lester B. Pearson Award. He represented Canada's senior team at the World Championships and led the squad in scoring during the 1993 tournament. Lindros competed in the Winter Olympics on three occasions, winning a silver medal in 1992 and a gold medal in 2002.
