Eli Manning Biography

Elisha Nelson Manning, born on January 3, 1981, played 16 seasons in the NFL as a professional football quarterback for the New York Giants. Manning earned the Maxwell Award and the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award in 2003 during his college football tenure with the Ole Miss Rebels. Selected first overall in the 2004 NFL draft by the San Diego Chargers, he was immediately traded to the New York Giants. He was named Super Bowl MVP in both of his championship victories, a distinction held by only six players in NFL history. As the Giants' starting quarterback from 2004 to 2019, Manning holds the franchise records for passing yards, passing touchdowns, and completions. During his high school career from 1996 to 1998, he was a three-time All-State selection, named USA Today Player of the Year in Louisiana, and passed for 7,389 yards and 89 touchdowns. While at Ole Miss, Manning established or matched numerous single-game, season, and career records in football.
