Edward Thomas McCaffrey, born on August 17, 1968, played 13 seasons in the NFL as a wide receiver for the New York Giants, San Francisco 49ers, and Denver Broncos. He earned first-team All-America honors during his college football career at Stanford in 1990. McCaffrey was a three-time Super Bowl champion, a second-team All-Pro in 1998, and a member of the Broncos' 50th anniversary team. He was selected by the New York Giants in the third round with the 83rd overall pick in the 1991 NFL Draft. In 2000, McCaffrey and teammate Rod Smith became the second wide receiver duo to each record 100 receptions in a single season. During the 2001 season, McCaffrey suffered a leg fracture in the opening game against the New York Giants on Monday Night Football. He was known by the nicknames Easy, Eddie Mac, White Lightning, and The Bruise, and he served as head football coach at Valor Christian High School starting in 2018.
