Dwayne Haskins Jr. was an American professional football quarterback born on May 3, 1997, and passed away on April 9, 2022, after a three-season career in the NFL. Haskins set Big Ten Conference records during his sophomore year in 2018, leading the NCAA in both passing yards and passing touchdowns while playing for Ohio State. Selected in the first round of the 2019 NFL draft, Haskins played for the Washington Redskins before being released due to inconsistent performance and concerns about his work ethic. He attended Bullis School from 2013 to 2016, where he passed for 5,308 yards and 54 touchdowns over his high school career. Haskins helped the Ohio State Buckeyes overcome a six-point deficit to win 31–20 in a key game during his college career. Prior to the 2020 season, he reduced his body fat by approximately seven percent and was named team starter and one of the team captains. On March 16, 2022, Haskins signed a one-year restricted free agent tender with his team.
