Drew Pearson Biography

Drew Pearson, born January 12, 1951, played 11 seasons as a wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys in the NFL. He played college football for the Tulsa Golden Hurricane before joining the pros. Born and raised in South River, New Jersey, he began his football career at South River High School. In 1973, Pearson was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Dallas Cowboys and made the roster. He helped the Cowboys reach three Super Bowl appearances and secured a win in Super Bowl XII in 1978. Pearson scored a touchdown in Super Bowl X and earned the nickname "Mr. Clutch" for key performances. He played a crucial role in Tony Dorsett’s 99-yard touchdown run in 1983 by delivering the final block.
