Charles Richard LeBeau, born September 9, 1937, is a Pro Football Hall of Fame American football coach and former player in the National Football League. LeBeau has been active in the NFL for 59 consecutive seasons, including 14 as a player and 45 as a coach. He spent most of his coaching career as a defensive assistant, notably serving as defensive coordinator for the Cincinnati Bengals and Pittsburgh Steelers. LeBeau began his NFL playing career with the Detroit Lions in 1959, earning three Pro Bowl and four second-team All-Pro selections. After retiring as a player in 1972, he started his coaching career the following season as the special teams coach for the Philadelphia Eagles and took his first defensive role in 1976 as the Green Bay Packers' defensive backs coach. LeBeau returned to the Steelers in 1992 as a defensive assistant and rejoined them in 2004 after one season with the Buffalo Bills as assistant head coach. After leaving the Steelers for the second time in 2014, he served as defensive coordinator and assistant head coach for the Tennessee Titans until 2017.
