Derrick O'Hara Johnson, born on November 22, 1982, is an American former professional football player who played as a linebacker in the National Football League. He earned consensus All-American honors twice during his college football career with the Texas Longhorns. Selected 15th overall in the 2005 NFL draft, Johnson was chosen by the Kansas City Chiefs. As a senior, he recorded 170 tackles with 103 unassisted, 21.0 stops for loss, six quarterback sacks, five forced fumbles, and two interceptions including one returned for a touchdown. He was recognized with Parade magazine high school All-America and first-team All-Texas Class 5A honors, and played in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl on December 30, 2000. Derrick Johnson played college football for the University of Texas at Austin from 2001 to 2004 under coach Mack Brown. He was a first-team All-Big 12 selection in 2002, 2003, and 2004, and earned consensus first-team All-American in 2003 and unanimous first-team All-American in 2004.
