Denzel Nehemiah Ward, born on April 28, 1997, is an American professional football cornerback who has played for the Cleveland Browns in the National Football League. He played college football at Ohio State University under head coach Urban Meyer and was selected by the Browns with the fourth overall pick in the 2018 NFL draft. Denzel Ward played his collegiate football career at Ohio State during the period when Urban Meyer served as head coach. He was projected as a top ten pick by NFL draft experts and scouts before being selected in the first round. Denzel Ward was anticipated to be selected within the first ten overall picks during the NFL draft evaluation period. During that game, he recorded six combined tackles, three pass deflections, and two interceptions in a 21–21 tie.
